Connect a Ruijie access point through Ruijie Cloud

Adopt the AP, create Cloud API credentials, map the project and package, and validate captive-portal vouchers.

Before you start

  • Complete the AP's initial local setup so its name and administrator settings survive a reboot.
  • Add the AP to the correct Ruijie Cloud project and confirm it is Online there.
  • Create an authorized Ruijie Cloud application ID and secret.
  • Configure the SSID and captive portal in Ruijie Cloud before testing vouchers.

Procedure

Follow these steps in order

1

Finish local AP initialization

Set the country, time, administrator password, SSID, and security mode. Reboot once and confirm the SSID persists before cloud adoption.

2

Adopt the AP in Ruijie Cloud

Add the serial number or scan the device into the intended project. Wait until Ruijie Cloud reports the AP Online. K7abeer cannot complete vendor-cloud adoption on your behalf.

3

Prepare captive portal and packages

In Ruijie Cloud, create the portal authentication policy and at least one voucher/user group. Package names can be mapped by normalized time labels such as 1H, One Hour, 1 Day, or 1 Month.

4

Add the Cloud connection in K7abeer

Choose Ruijie Cloud, enter the application ID and secret, select the customer project, and provide the device serial or MAC requested by the form.

5

Check project and device identity

Run Check connection. K7abeer must verify that the device exists in the selected project and is Online before voucher installation.

6

Generate a small test batch

Create a matching K7abeer package, generate one or two vouchers, and send them to the Ruijie controller. Review the controller result instead of treating local generation as successful installation.

7

Test the captive portal

Connect a new phone to the customer SSID, open a webpage, enter the installed voucher, and verify speed and expiry behavior.

Verify success

  • The AP remains named correctly after a power reboot.
  • Ruijie Cloud and K7abeer show the same project and device identity.
  • The generated package maps to a Ruijie user group.
  • A newly installed voucher authenticates on the captive portal.

Troubleshooting

Controller says no package matches

Refresh controller packages and map the K7abeer package to the intended Ruijie user group. Time labels are normalized, but ambiguous packages still require an explicit selection.

Controller error after local generation

The voucher exists in K7abeer but is not installed. Confirm Cloud application permissions, project, AP online state, package mapping, and retry only the failed installation.

Captive portal does not appear

Confirm the AP is Online in Ruijie Cloud, the portal policy is assigned to the exact SSID, DHCP and DNS work, and the test device has no VPN or private DNS interference.
