Use the desktop app for a local-only device

Let K7abeer reach a private LAN address from the same network without exposing the router API to the public internet.

Before you start

  • Install the signed and notarized K7abeer desktop app from the official Downloads page.
  • Connect the computer to the same LAN as the router or AP.
  • Know the correct private management address and credentials.

Procedure

Follow these steps in order

1

Open and sign in

Launch the desktop app, sign in to the correct customer workspace, and leave it running while performing local device operations.

2

Confirm the local route

Open or ping the private address from the computer. A 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x, or 172.16-31.x.x address must respond from this LAN before K7abeer can use it.

3

Select desktop or local connection

Open the intended branch and device, choose the local desktop connection mode, and enter the LAN management address.

4

Run a read-only check

Verify vendor, model, serial or MAC, and current configuration before allowing writes.

5

Keep remote and local status separate

A local desktop check does not create continuous cloud monitoring. Configure K7abeer Remote Access or a supported vendor cloud when ongoing remote operation is required.

Verify success

  • The desktop app reports the intended workspace and local connection.
  • The discovered identity matches the physical device.
  • The local address works without public port forwarding.

Troubleshooting

The LAN address does not answer

Confirm WiFi or Ethernet, gateway and subnet, device address, local firewall, VPN, and that the device management service is enabled.

The cloud still reports Offline

Desktop reachability is local and temporary. Enable a supported remote path for continuous cloud checks, or treat the device as locally observed.
